Espanyol made an attempt to sign Manchester City rebel Carlos Tevez last month.

Sport says Espanyol, which enjoy a strong relationship City, asked them about taking Tevez on-loan rather than the Blues paying their star Argie to sit out the remainder of the season.

City didn't dismiss the idea, but the proposal was shut down by Tevez's camp, with the striker only interested in getting a move to AC Milan.
