Espanyol sports chief Domingo Catoira has left the door open to signing Celta Vigo midfielder Denis Suarez.

Denis is available from Celta after falling out with management.

A move to Espanyol has been mooted for the former Barcelona starlet and Catoira said: "He's a good player and we always want the good ones, but looking at the market, the club he's at and the wage bill is not something we consider.

"If he's on the market we'll see if we go for him or not, but now we're not going after him in any case.

"The difficulties we have are similar to other 10-12 clubs. We have to be imaginative, we are being; we had a clear route time and timing for priorities. What we had in mind for now is being fulfilled.

"From now on going forward, it's a complex and complicated market. We seek to have a very competitive team, if it can be on the first day of LaLiga better, but at the end of the market is when we have to assess how the squad has turned out."
