Sven Goran Eriksson is delighted with the response of Manchester City fullback Javi Garrido after his mauling at Chelsea a fortnight ago.

City have since kept two clean sheets to reach the Carling Cup quarter-finals and move back to third in the Premier League.

Boss Eriksson said: "We have worked hard on defending since Chelsea and have seen the results. I've been pleased in particular with Garrido. I thought it was wrong he got so much stick."
