Eriksson happy to meet Liverpool boss Klopp

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has shared his delight at getting to take to the field again.

Eriksen, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer since this year, got to manage Liverpool in a legends game.

The Swede took charge of a team of Liverpool legends who took on Ajax in a friendly at Anfield.

“It was the first time I met him," he said of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp during a pre-game news conference.

“I was surprised he came to the dressing room before training.

“He said something to the team, a great man, a great manager doing extremely well with Liverpool. Can win in Europe, can win in the Premier League this season - it was an honor to meet him for sure."

Steven Gerrard is an extremely good footballer and he still can do it," he added.

“He's fit as well, not as fit as you (Fernando Torres, who was sat next to him).

“It's great to see all these football players, even in Ajax. I knew some, of course ex-Liverpool players. Great, great, great, it was a big honor to sit next to them and see them playing good football."
