Eriksen buoyed by pre-season form of Tottenham youngsters

Christian Eriksen admits Tottenham Hotspur have a great deal of quality young players at their disposal ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Danish attacking midfielder was full of praise for the likes of Will Miller, Harry Winks, Josh Onomah, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Dominic Ball in the wake of Spurs' 2-1 defeat to Juventus in the International Champions Cup in Melbourne on Tuesday.

Despite a couple of errors from the aforementioned during the pre-season clash at the MCG, Eriksen feels that the North Londoners are well-stocked in the youngsters department after they performed with aplomb against the Serie A champions.

"A lot of them did really well. Will Miller at left-back did really well," he told reporters on Thursday.

"Winksy when he came on, Josh when he came on. I think almost everyone did well.

"Also the guys who started in Cameron and Dominic.

"Everyone did their best and of course they are going to make mistakes but if you are young, you always make mistakes."

Mauricio Pochettino is likely to give further game experience to his more inexperienced players when Spurs meet Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in the final Melbourne ICC match for 2016 on Friday night.

Eriksen, who missed the meeting with Juve due to illness, expects to play some part against the Champions League finalists.

"I hope I will be involved," he added.

"We are training later today, we will see how that goes, but the plan that is I'll be playing.

"I'm feeling much better over the last few days."
