Eriksen blanked for first time in 10 years as Spurs ace Hojbjerg nominated for Denmark's Player of the Year

Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been nominated for Denmark's Player of the Year.

For the first time since 2010, Christian Eriksen, now of Inter Milan, has not been nominated for the gong.

Along with Hojbjerg, Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and AC Milan defender Simon Kjaer are also nominated.

Hojbjerg only left Southampton this summer for Spurs, where he has been outstanding for manager Jose Mourinho.

Schmeichel is the defending winner, having won the award last year.
