England under-20s manager Ian Foster is impressed with Manchester City youngster Liam Delap.
Like several of his teammates, Delap is on loan at an EFL club this season with Preston.
Foster is pleased that Delap, along with the likes of Luke Mbete and Callum Doyle, are getting good game time.
"Liam's had an interesting journey and no player's journey is the same," he said to Manchester Evening News.
"Coming from Derby into Manchester City and he has been unfortunate with injuries.
"He's a strong and physical player, a bit of a throwback in terms of his physique in the top line. He's the ultimate competitor which obviously leads to a risk of injury at times but that's how he plays the game. He's on the right path, I speak regularly to him, I've been in to see him at Preston recently and spent a couple of days with him in the club.
"He's really enjoying the journey, really enjoying the experience. Would he like to score more goals? Name me a striker that wouldn't! He's in a good place, Liam, he's a player we really like and he's a player we hope can continue in the pathway."
