England boss Capello reignites row with Tottenham's Redknapp

England boss Fabio Capello has hit back at Tottenham's Harry Redknapp regarding their row over Ledley King's availability.

Capello raged: "I have to say something about Mr Redknapp. He spoke about the England national team but a Spurs player who is Scottish was in the squad after three months injured and yet he spoke about King and not about Alan Hutton.

"I don't know if he has a problem. We have to check all the players and in the last squad we did it with Steven Gerrard.

"I'm right to do so because he played the last game. I am happy to have spoken to the player. Now I know everything about his situation."

Capello also defended his decision to call up 28-year-old King despite his chronic knee injury.

King has since been released because of the problem.

But Capello said: "We followed Ledley for the last four or five games and he played very well and we wanted him in the squad.

"The England medical staff checked him and decided he could go back to Spurs.

"There is no problem with Redknapp. It is his right to talk but we should stop now."
