Empoli coach Paolo Zanetti was left upset after their 2-0 defeat to Napoli last night.
The Tuscans held out Napoli until the 69th minute when Victor Osimhen won a penalty converted by Hirving Lozano. Piotr Zielinski later struck to settle the game.
“I prefer not to talk about the penalty, it was extremely soft," Zanetti told DAZN.
“The contact didn't seem anywhere near enough for a spot-kick. That's the way the referee saw it, so we can't do anything about that.
“Our tactical plan was to close the spaces down the centre so Napoli had to go wide. It had worked, we managed to really lock them down, until the penalty and the red card.
“I can only thank my players for their performance."
