Johan Elmander admits he was relieved to get his first goal for Bolton Wanderers in their victory at Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Elmander said: "I just needed time but it is a big relief. I have found it difficult. If you are a striker everyone expects you to score goals. That's the way it is. I know how many I want to score in my head."
Bolton's Gary Megson said he was more relieved than he had ever been as a manager to see Elmander end his eight-match run without a goal.
Megson, whose side are now 12th, one point behind Boro, accepted responsibility for the pressure the summer signing from Toulouse has been under.
He said: "It was starting to affect him but you saw the reaction of all the players. They were every bit as pleased as Johan because he has been playing well."
