Elche have been invited to be Barcelona's opponents for the Trofeo Joan Gamper.

Onda Cero Elche reports Barça asked the LaLiga newcomers on Friday if they wanted to be involved in the contest as both sides don't have league matches.

The date of the match hasn't been officially confirmed but it's expected to be on either the 19th or 20th.

Elche are currently scheduled to face Atlético Baleares on the 19th but they are open to cancelling that match in order to face Barcelona.
