Mexico national team boss Miguel Herrera is supremely confident of getting the required results to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.
El Tri host New Zealand in the playoff first leg at the Azteca Stadium on November 13 (Thursday morning AEDT) and new manager Herrera is expecting improved results following the team's poor showing during the CONCACAF qualifying stage.
"The first thing we said was that we shouldn't think about what happened in the past because that's something we can't resolve," Herrera said.
"We are going to win in Mexico and we will also seek to win over there (in New Zealand)."
Liga MX-winning Club America boss Herrera took the reins recently after the Mexico Football Federation sacked Luis Fernando Tena after just one match and Victor Manuel Vucetich after two matches. He essentially succeeds Jose Manuel de la Torre who was in charge of El Tri for 50 matches from 2011.
