Eintracht Frankfurt admit they're in talks with Manchester United for fullback Guillermo Varela.

The Manchester Evening News says Varela is in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over a possible loan move with a view to making it permanent.

Eintracht sporting director Freddie Bobic confirmed the club had opened discussions with the 23-year-old over a possible move in an interview with Kicker magazine.

Talks are 'at an early stage' but the possibility of Varela moving on could put him out of contention to feature in United's pre-season fixture at Wigan on Saturday or travelling on the club's pre-season tour to China next week.
