Eduardo Garcia has announced his candidacy for the Real Madrid presidency.

Garcia says he "almost" has one major signing closed and insists he wants to put Real's traditions ahead of marketing.

"My candidacy is based on being a voice for the supporters who is present in the chair, a return to power," said Garcia.

"I have not declared for my own sake, but because I have spoken to many members and I have seen the need to return to Madrid's origins rather than Madrid's marketing powers. The job of this club is to win titles, not other external factors."
