Eduardo brace as Arsenal crush Cardiff

After a year out through injury, Eduardo scored twice in Arsenal's 4-0 FA Cup 4th round replay win over Cardiff. After suffering a broken leg twelve months ago Eduardo returned to open the scoring and then convert a penalty.

In between Nicklas Bendtner added the second before Robin Van Persie added a late fourth to totally crush a hapless Cardiff.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said of Eduardo: "He had a good game for his first game back. When you have such a long time out, it's difficult to be patient, to come in every day and see everyone else play. He had to deal with a lot of frustrations.

"I believe - as any striker - he can contribute and help us to win games. He has the perfect spirit, he is talented and is intelligent."

Bendtner was pleased for Eduardo, telling Setanta: "It was amazing - all the fans and players have waited for him to come back after the horrific thing that happened and it's really, really good for him to come back with two goals."

Arsenal will now face Burnley, with a quarter-final match against Hull or Sheffield United awaiting the winners.

The Clarets dumped Arsenal out of this season's Carling Cup and Bendtner added: "What happened last time is not a nice thing - I'm sure there won't be a repeat."
