Edin Dzeko hailed Inter Milan's spirit shown for their Supercoppa Italiana victory over AC Milan.

Dzeko struck in the 3-0 rout of their city neighbours in Riyadh.

“We certainly put in a great performance, the lads were splendid from the first to the last minute. We really did give everything we had," Dzeko told Sport Mediaset.

“There was no need for revenge, I and the team always look forward. This was a Cup we also won last season, we know how wonderful it is to win it, we came out fighting today from the start.

“This is why we are here. I am very happy we are taking another trophy home and hope there will be more in future."
