Dyche insists Burnley deserved FA Cup shootout winners against MK Dons

Burnley boss Sean Dyche insists they deserved their FA Cup shootout win against MK Dons on Saturday.

Dyche felt his side merited their place in the FA Cuop fourth round after squeezing past MK Dons on penalties.

Matej Vydra's 94th minute equaliser saved the day before two shoout-out saves from debutant Will Norris put the Clarets through.

And Dyche felt that if his side had been more clinical with the plethora of chances that came their way, the nervy finale could have been avoided.

The Burnley boss told the club's website: “I thought we deserved to win the game. It's a tie what we should have won and we managed to get through to the next round.

“One of our big things here is going until the final breath, and it's a really good finish from Vyds.

“He's shown a real desire to get there first and it's a good finish.

“Credit to MK Dons because they came here today and made it tricky by taking the game on.

“They scored a goal, and they didn't try to defend it out; they kept on trying to play, but the chance count is as high as I can remember for while frOm us.

“We've made so many good chances and their keeper has been excellent – I must say that – BUT I think on today's quality of chances I have got to look at the centre forwards today and put a bit of pressure on them."
