Liverpool are set to loan out a young fringe defender who was not in their plans for this season.

The Reds are sending defender Billy Koumetio to Dunkerque on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old has already spent time at Lyons and Orleans at youth level in France.

He is now heading back to the nation, per L'Equipe, as he looks to get regular first team football.

The Reds will be hoping that he impresses enough to raise his value in the next 12 months.

Koumetio is not seen as a long term first team player at the club, but he will be hoping to change manager Jurgen Klopp's mind.
