Dubravka ready to grab latest Newcastle 'opportunity'

Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka is ready to throw everything at his chance as being the club's No1.

Dubravka is stepping up with Nick Pope out due to a shoulder operation.

He told ChronicleLive: "I take each game as it comes now. It's not new for me, when I first arrived in England, I used to take every game as an opportunity to show what I could do.

"I want to use each game to show that I am a quality keeper and that's all you can do."

The Slovakia international added: "I have never seen anything quite like this in terms of the number of injuries. Injuries are of course part of football but we have so many injured at the moment.

"It is just unfortunate for us. But even with the players that are fit and the younger boys, they are showing some quality. And they also bring energy to the team."
