Driver to prove worth by staying with Hearts

Hearts have valued Andrew Driver at £5m, and the England Under 21 international is prepared to wait to convince the Premier League he is worth the money. "I've had a chat with the manager (Csaba Laszlo) about my future and that will remain private," Driver told the Daily Record.

"But it's clear that he wants me to stay for another year and I have told him I am happy to stay and continue improving. I've got a long contract at Hearts and I'm very happy here.

"I'm not going to go to the club right now and say I want to leave. It does me no favours to burn my bridges, but I have always said that if the opportunity arises I would like to go to the Premiership.

"I've got to set new targets and if I achieve them then perhaps the figure that has been placed on my head won't seem as silly to some as it does now. "Football is a funny business and you get crazy figures thrown about all the time for players.

"The figure being talked about for me is very high, but I hope I can show in the next few months I'm worth it. It doesn't put any extra pressure on me.

"If anything it's good to know the club values me so highly, but at the end of the day you're only worth as much as someone is willing to pay."
