Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is hopeful his form at club level can earn him an international chance.
The 25-year-old scored twice in a 4-1 win for Villa over West Ham United in the Premier League.
Luiz, who has the most goals of any Brazilian in Europe's top five leagues this term, spoke about his hopes with the national side.
Speaking with Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, Luiz said: "I've been experiencing a moment of great fulfilment with my club, team mates and family.
"Everybody has contributed a lot for my performance to be at the level it is today."
He added: "I've been working very hard on and off the pitch in pursuit of the season's goals. Return to defend the Brazil national team is one of my priorities.
"I'm hopeful that, when the time comes, every sacrifice will be rewarded."
