Villarreal have completed the signing Watford midfielder Etienne Capoue.

The Yellow Submarine has snapped up Capoue for €2m, with the Frenchman signing terms to 2023.

The deal will be confirmed on January 4.

Capoue's was from the first moment the best midfield option and the priority for Villarreal in January, something that coach Unai Emery had already recognised.

"It was an option that seemed the best to all parties," said Emery.

Capoue joins his team's work and training sessions this Thursday, although he will not be able to play until the club can register him once the winter market opens on January 4.
