DONE DEAL: Villarreal land RB Leipzig striker Alexander Sorloth

Villarreal have landed RB Leipzig striker Alexander Sorloth.

The Norway international spent last season on-loan with Real Sociedad. However, he has now made the switch to Villarreal.

Sorloth joins in a permanent deal, penning a five-year contract.

Villarreal announced:

"Reference centre-forward (195cm) with a powerful run and an intimidating presence in the area. A '9' for the Giallorossi attack who predominantly uses his left foot.

"Sorloth will train this Wednesday with his new teammates at the Ciudad Deportiva (9:30) and could also travel in the afternoon to play this week's friendlies against Feyenoord and Sporting CP. The precise date of his official presentation as a new Villarreal player will be announced in the coming days.

"Alexander Sorloth (Trondheim, 5 December 1995), who spent the last two seasons on loan at Real Sociedad scoring 24 goals in 90 games, grew up in Rosenborg's youth academy and has since played for Bodo Glimt, Groningen, Midtjylland, Crystal Palace, Gent and Trabzonspor. With the Turkish team he 'exploded' by scoring 33 goals in 49 games.

It should also be noted that Sorloth is a Norwegian international and has played 49 official matches, scoring 16 goals".
