Bryan Ruiz has joined Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon from Fulham.

Ruiz joined the Cottagers back in 2011 for a sizeable £10.6million but following the club's relegation to the Championship last season, there was a lot of speculation surrounding his future.

Ruiz remained at Craven Cottage as Fulham decided to take up the option of extending the 29-year old's contract to but following the expiration of the deal this summer, the Costa Rican star has left the London side to join Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon on a free transfer.

Ruiz signs for Sporting on a three-year deal and the club have included a £43million buyout clause into his contract.
