DONE DEAL: Redmond delighted to become Burnley player

Burnley have snapped up former Southampton captain Nathan Redmond.

Redmond joins as a free agent after coming off contract at Besiktas.

After penning a two-year deal with the option of a third, Redmond said: “It's been going on behind the scenes behind for a bit and talking with the manager, but I'm really happy it's finally over the line and I'm delighted to be a Burnley player.

“I always had aspirations to play in the Premier League again and I'm really thankful to Besiktas for allowing me to play there but I'm really to be back in the Premier League with this Club.

“I think with Burnley's project at the moment and the direction the Club is going in, it lines up with my ambitions.

“I think also, with the management team as well, after having conversations with them, they feel like they can potentially enhance my game a little bit more and they see the value I can bring to the Club on and off the field, so it feels like a perfect match."
