Real Madrid appear to have burned off competition from across Europe to land Stromsgodset midfielder Martin Odegaard.

VG says the 16 year-old Norway international touched down in Madrid last night with his father and agent ahead of entering contract talks today.

Ajax, Manchester United, Barcelona, ??Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been visited by Odegaard over the past month, but it appears he's decided his career is best served signing with Real.

Real chiefs have already made the No16 shirt his and see him as an immediate first team prospect.

Real are happy for Odegaard to remain with Stromsgodset for the rest of this European season before signing with them in June.
