DONE DEAL: Nugent leaves Middlesbrough for Derby

David Nugget has completed his transfer from Middlesbrough to Derby County.

The 31-year-old striker has departed the Riverside Stadium to sign a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Rams for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £2.5m.

Nugent has made just five appearances under Aitor Karanka this season but will provided plenty of experience and goalscoring know-how for Derby boss Steve McClaren.

"We're delighted to complete the signing of David Nugent," McClaren told Derby's official website of the former Leicester City, Burnley, Portsmouth, Preston North End and Bury forward.

"He is a proven goalscorer at Championship level and he also has a great deal of experience as well to bring to the table.

"David has a track record of scoring important goals as well and we're pleased to add him to the attacking talent that we already have."
