Newcastle United have announced the sale of Mehdi Abeid to Panathinaikos.
The 23-year-old midfielder joins the Greek Superleague side after more than four years on Tyneside, during which he made 21 appearances in all competitions.
Abeid signed for Newcastle United in May 2011 from Lens.
He joins Panathinaikos for an undisclosed fee.
