Swiss club FC Basel have signed Seydou Doumbia from AS Roma.
The Ivory Coast striker has joined the Swiss Super League champions on a season-long loan deal having spent the second part of last season on loan with Newcastle United.
Basel confirmed that they have the they have the option of signing Doumbia permanently at the end of the loan spell.
The 28-year-old joined Roma from CSKA Moscow in 2015 but has failed to hold down a first-team place in the Italian capital and has subsequently been loaned out for a third stint since arriving at the Stadio Olimpico.
A Roma statement read: "AS Roma can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Swiss club FC Basel 1893 for the loan of forward Seydou Doumbia for the duration of the 2016-17 season."
