Getafe have signed Hertha Berlin defender Omar Alderete.

The Paraguay international spent last season on-loan with Valencia. He now returns to LaLiga in a similar deal at Getafe.

Getafe turned to Alderete after being blocked by Villarreal coach Unai Emery from signing Jorge Cuenca.

Alderete also had an offer from Hellas Verona, but he wanted to return to Spain.

He becomes the eighth summer signing at Getafe.
