Former Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illarramendi has signed with FC Dallas.

The veteran was released by La Real earlier this summer and joins as a free agent.

Illarramendi has penned a deal to the end of the MLS season, plus an option for the following season.

“Asier is a high-quality midfielder who brings more than a decade of LaLiga experience, including three years during a remarkable career at Real Madrid," said FC Dallas technical director Andre Zanotta.

“His leadership will be an asset to the entire organization".
