Chelsea have completed a deal for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, believed to be worth £35m.
The 27-year-old was holed up at the Blues Cobham training facility until 1:30am as the club finalised the deal.
The deal seemed to be dependent on whether Leicester signed Adrien Silva from Sporting Lisbon - the Foxes are confident they did complete a deal for the Portuguese, believed to be worth £22m.
Drinkwater told the club's website 'I'm delighted to be a Chelsea player and can't wait to get started. It has been a long journey to get here but I am very happy and am looking forward to helping the club win more trophies."
