Former Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo is joining Primera Division new boys Cadiz.

Cadiz's promotion was confirmed on Sunday and president Manuel Vizcaino has announced Negredo as a first signing for next season.

The veteran centre-forward, 34, arrives on a free transfer from the UAE's Al Nasr.

Vizcaino declared last night after promotion that the next objective was to "establish ourselves" in the Primera.

The Sevillian leader recognised the difficulty of the "new project" and that it is "difficult" to face the demands of promotion, but he hoped that "the best is yet to come".
