Blackburn Rovers have snapped up Liverpool prospect Sam Durrant.
The 16-year-old, who was coveted by a number of other clubs, has signed a two-year scholarship, plus a one-year professional contract.
A creative midfielder, with a keen eye for goal, Durrant spent six years at Everton before being bought by Merseyside rivals Liverpool four years ago.
The talented teenager will join up with his new team-mates at Rovers' Academy on July 1st.
“It's great, because I believe I've got an opportunity here and it's a great chance for me to progress as a player and as a person," said the new Rovers scholar.
“This club provides opportunities for young players to progress and play first team football and hopefully that's something I can do.
“There are some great players and some good people to work with here, so that can only make me a better player.
“I can't wait to get going and settle in."
