Barcelona are on the brink of signing Coritiba fullback Yan Couto.

Globo Esporte says Barca have beaten Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen to the signing of Couto, with a deal worth €5m agreed.

Barca scouts have likened the 17 year-old to Dani Alves and the Catalans will welcome Couto to La Masia when he turns 18 later this year.

Couto helped Brazil win the U17 World Cup last year and emerged as one of the best right-backs for his age anywhere in the world.

Barca could confirm the transfer in the coming days.
