Colchester United continued their busy transfer deadline day by signing Tyreik Wright on loan from Premier League side Aston Villa.

The winger, who is only 20, has arrived to give the U's better attacking options until the end of the season.

Wright is the club's third deadline day signing, and the Republic of Ireland international is likely to be in their squad when they take on Leyton Orient on Saturday.

He spent the first half of the season on loan at Colchester's League Two rivals Salford City.

Wright will be hoping to help Colchester avoid relegation, as they are currently in 22nd place out of 24 teams in League Two.
