Almeria have signed permanently Barcelona fullback Sergio Akieme.

Sport says the Catalans announced on Wednesday that Almeria have exercised an option to sign the Barça B player Akieme for €3.5m.

The left-back has been on loan at the second division team and has done enough to convince the club's owners to make the move permanent.

In addition to the transfer fee, Barça will receive 10 percent of any money Almeria make on Akieme with regards to a future sale.

Barça will also have the first option on Akieme in the case he leaves Almeria, with the club thanking him for his effort and commitment while at Camp Nou.
