Distin admits disappointing season Portsmouth

Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin has admitted that this season has been a disappointment and a failure for the club.

After a positive season last term, Pompey have floundered into 16th position on the table and have a tough task ahead of them to remain in the top flight.

"It's a tough end of the season for us, but if we play like we are at the moment any team is going to be tough," the Frenchman told The News.

"There's disappointment there. We did so well last season and now everything is the opposite.

"It's not enjoyable. I don't know why I shouldn't say this. They are the facts. I'm not pessimistic. I'm just saying how I feel.

"There's disappointment and frustration. It's going to be a very difficult end to the season.

"The players have to see what is happening as a sign to wake up. Everyone is down at the moment.

"Some games we have done well and not got the result. But we can't say that about the Fulham game.

"We have enough to stay up, but we have to do more."
