Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio says his summer market plans are already underway.

Di Canio has not yet sat down for talks about transfer plans with owner Ellis Short, but he has spoken to both incoming football director Roberto De Fanti and chief executive Margaret Byrne about potential targets.

He said: "I have already made it clear what I would like.

"But I want to focus my attention on the next game.

"It's clear what I would like to happen - to build a team and play football that the fans will enjoy."
