Dermot Drummy to leave Chelsea for manager's job

Chelsea coach Dermot Drummy is leaving the club.

The Mirror says Drummy is leaving Stamford Bridge to move into club management.

Drummy, 53, had nearly six years at Chelsea as youth, reserve and under-21 before taking on an international head coach role in the summer.

But Drummy, who also worked at Arsenal and helped produce the likes of Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs, will leave on December 31 and wants to follow in the footsteps of Brendan Rodgers.

Liverpool boss Rodgers began his career as a youth coach at Chelsea before moving into management and Drummy is now looking to move into a front line role.
