Derbyshire happy to bide time at Blackburn

Matt Derbyshire is happy to bide his time for a first team chance at Blackburn Rovers.

The youngster is playing second fiddle to Benni McCarthy and Roque Santa Cruz in Rovers' forward line and told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "I wouldn't say I'd fallen behind in the pecking order. I'd say at the moment the guys have got their place, but working with them in training has been unbelievable, the likes of Roque Santa Cruz and Benni McCarthy and Jason Roberts, it's not bad.

"All I can do is learn from these players and get better.

"At this moment in time, obviously I want to be starting and I can take the things I've learned from training into a game."
