Derby's ex-Man Utd pair happy with performance

Derby County captain Robbie Savage and midfield partner Dave Jones enjoyed their clash with Manchester United on Saturday.

Both midfielders came through the system at United and Savage told the Derby Telegraph: "I'll put it next to Rooney's (Wayne Rooney) and Giggsy's (Ryan Giggs).

"It was nice to play against Anderson for the first time and for Jonesy played Scholesy (Paul Scholes). Their keeper made two great saves at a crucial time.

"I know our keeper made six or seven great saves but, at the time, we could have gone one up.

"If we'd got that first goal it would have been tricky for United who are a great team.

"But then Ronaldo pops up with the winner.

"For me, he's the best player in the world."

Jones added: "I didn't get the shirt in the end, Robbie sprinted past me to get it."
