Derby County have broken their transfer record with the £3.5million acquisition of Robert Earnshaw from Norwich City.

The Wales international has previous top flight experience with West Brom and, with 150 senior goals to his name, will be charged with the task of keeping Derby in the Premier League.

Davies feels the 26-year-old has all the attributes to be a success at Pride Park, confident that the former Cardiff City favourite will prove to be real value for money.

"We are delighted to have a new striker on board with a fantastic track record in terms of goals scored at every level he has played, including the Premier League and internationals," said Davies.

"Robert is a fantastic addition to my squad and I'm sure the fans will be excited that we have a new fox in the box for the new season."
