Derby County are demanding £1m for young striker Luke Plange.
The Daily Mail says former Arsenal youngster Plange has emerged as a late transfer window target for Crystal Palace who are keen on a cut-price deal amid Derby's financial problems.
But while Palace hoped they could prise Plange away from the Pride Park club for around £300,000, Derby's administrators believe the 19 year-old has a seven-figure valuation.
Plange has broken into the Derby side this season after joining from Arsenal last summer.
He has scored twice in six appearances and played a key role in the upturn of form that has given Wayne Rooney's side genuine hope of staying in the Championship after being hit with a 21-point deduction.
Palace are keen to sign Plange now before sending him back on loan for up to 18 months.
