Bastian Schweinsteiger took the time to pay tribute to Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.
The German midfielder has confirmed that he will join MLS club Chicago Fire after spending the past 18 months with United.
Schweinsteiger, whose move could take place as early as next week pending a visa, posted some messages on Twitter as he gets sets to depart Old Trafford and Carrington.
The first was to the club's fitness staff, and in particular fitness coach Paolo Gaudino, for helping him through his injury troubles.
Thank you to the entire staff, for everything you've done. Especially to my friend & PT Paolo for always standing by my side! Mille grazie! pic.twitter.com/os72BkNzpc

And the second was to club captain Rooney, who has become a good friend during his stay in England.
I made some very good friends in Manchester. Wishing you and the team only the best, my captain! pic.twitter.com/9R6M73dtLB
