Former Chelsea coach Eddie Newton is set to be confirmed assistant coach at Trabzonspor today.

While his move from Chelsea has been confirmed for some days, Newton is yet to put pen to paper on a contract with the Turkish giants.

However, Fanatik says the former Chelsea midfielder is due to sign forms today.

Newton will join Huseyin Cimsir's staff as assistant coach - on recommendation of the head coach. Cimsir had been seeking a foreign assistant to join his staff.

Newton has been working within the Chelsea coaching system for over a decade and this move is his first abroad.
