Delroy Ebanks takes charge of Newcastle youth recruitment

Newcastle may have found a solution to their Financial Fair Play issues.

The club are aware that they must spend within their means to avoid incurring the wrath of the Premier League and eventually UEFA.

Another issue is that clubs around the world know they are flushed with cash, which complicates transfer deals.

The Magpies are working hard to secure young players in England, rather than having to overpay for them when they are established first team players.

They have since hired Delroy Ebanks, from West Ham, to head up their youth recruitment.

Colchester United's current sporting director Dmitri Halajko praised Ebanks to Chronicle Live: "Del was one of those people where you would always trust his judgment.

"If he said there was a good player at a certain club or out of a club that he wanted to bring in, you wouldn't feel you had to question it or look at that player yourself. You always knew when they came into training they would be at the level."
