Fabian Delph says he will not go out of his way to convince Christian Benteke to remain with Aston Villa.
The Belgian striker is being linked with a possible summer departure as the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United continue to circle but Delph says there is not much he can do as the decision rests solely with the player.
"I wouldn't try to convince anybody (to stay)," Delph said.
"Everyone is entitled to make their own decisions. If they have a chance to move on and better themselves, I can't tell them not to do that.
"If they want to commit themselves to the club and stay there, then happy days there as well. But it is down to that individual."
