Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap has tipped team-mate Ryan Shawcross for the World Cup after coming through the hell of the Aaron Ramsey affair.
Shawcross, 22, skippered Stoke as he made his first appearance at the Britannia since breaking Arsenal midfielder Ramsey's leg in February.
The defender has missed two months with ankle problems and is still haunted by that moment.
But Delap, 33, said: "Ryan has come straight back at his best.
"There are still a couple of places left in the England squad and there's no reason why he shouldn't be on the plane."
