Sunderland's Sebastian Larsson has labelled Jermain Defoe's winner on the weekend as one of the best goals you will see in a derby.
The 32-year old English striker produced a stunning left-footed volley to give the Black Cats a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United in the Tyne-Wear clash on Sunday which prompted words of praise from teammate Larsson.
"As a goal to win a derby it doesn't get much better than that. Hats off to Jermain, but that's what he's here for," said the Swede.
"You probably won't find a better winner for one of these derbies throughout history.
"I'm going to be honest, when I saw he was going to shoot my first thought was 'No!' I changed my mind very quickly!
"What a strike, especially when you're struggling to score a goal, you need something like that to kick-start you. We should have scored more.
"It wouldn't have been unfair if we'd scored two at least."
